Holidays in Tenerife are like no other. The mild climate of this island has earned it the moniker “Island of Eternal Spring.” The warm sunny weather is ideal for hours of sunbathing, swimming and sports along the island’s many stunning beaches. From the golden beaches of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americans to the dark volcanic beauty of El Bollullo beach, the offerings are extensive and diverse. You can visit tourist favorites with all the buzz of water sports and planned activities or escape to more secluded locations and take your holiday in the peace and quite of relative solitude. When you’re not combing the beach, you can browse colorful locally owned shops or bask in the fresh warm breeze at an open-air restaurant.
If you’re looking for a more strenuous activity to work out your stress while on vacation, you can undertake the strenuous hike up Mount Teide. From its base, Mount Teide is the third largest volcano in the world. The trek to the top is no easy hike and should only be attempted with a guide and ample supplies. It will take about 6 hours to reach the summit, but the stunning views of the island from this point are well worth it for athletic visitors.
